Law360, New York (November 05, 2009) -- The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries has stopped the sale of more than 8,000 pounds of catfish from five Asian countries following a positive test for fluoroquinolone, an antibiotic not approved for use in seafood by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Forty samples of catfish — from Thailand, Cambodia, China, Vietnam and Indonesia — were tested for contamination, and 18 turned up positive, the department said in a statement Wednesday....
